Options

Thought I had all the options figured out but what is online at Ford site and others is not completely accurate. Went to Ford site and selected Transit. Then selected "search dealer inventory". That takes you to a listing of what is in stock at closest dealer to the zip code entered. Mine had showed one in stock but it has not actually arrived yet. If you select"extended inventory" you will see a listing of Transits the dealer has ordered for future delivery. You can select a vehicle and "view window sticker" to see copy of the sticker.

What was interesting after I reviewed numerous window stickers I found several options that are not shown or not allowed when doing a "build your own" vehicle configuration. So not all options are included in the "build your own" vehicle.

The two I found are $35.00 for a black wheel choice and $325.00 for the X7L 3.73 limited slip rear axle with the 3.7 gas non turbo engine.

So options are available that are not included in the "build your own".

Yup you are correct.. I ordered my 350 cargo on 4/30 loaded it equipped. Until you sit down with the dealer and go on their site and order by code, your just guessing with all the false info floating around. I'm told 3 more weeks. We shall see....

Recently had a chat session with Ford to answer some questions about 150 vs 250.

The differences between the 150 and 250 are 400lbs payload, $940 base cost. They couldn't give me any more information re: springs, shocks, etc. They thought towing capacity would be greater, but all published specs say towing capacity and all other specs are the same if all else is equal (engine, axle ratio). Vehicle weights are also shown the same (with the same engines). For 130 WB, Med high top, 5060 with 3.7, 5130 with 3.5eco, 5500 with 3.2 Diesel, so engine choice, especially the diesel, eats into payload.

Chat person said ground clearance is 6 inches for 150, same for 250. She didn't know if this was empty or with rated load.

Seems like the 150 might ride a little better, less harsh, but it might also be more susceptible to wind. $940 buys some nice options.
