Recently I switched to premium fuel.

I do believe this engine does better on premium. I feel it's getting about 2 mpg better on it all the time. Well that's using the gauge.

It's about 60 cents a gallon more to run premium. Not sure really if the increase in MPG offsets the cost increase. I actually doubt it..

I'm also running the premium for the extra points. I get 10x air miles in the summer on premium.. LOL Shell Triton.

In CA I see no difference in mileage with premium. But we have special gas here. We also have people chaining themselves to trees, living owl nests, building multi billion dollar trains from nowhere to nowhere...

Found some SPECIAL gas in eastern Oregon. Got real good gas mileage. Here are the pictures to prove it. The meter did not go higher than 99.9 mpg.

Haha, I wish.
It was a little depressing when I saw the mileage drop to 8.8 mpg during a long climb. So at the summit I reset the mpg meter. It felt good seeing the meter go over 50 mpg and eventually 99.9 mpg on the long way down.
Overall during our 2,500 mile trip the last 2 weeks I got about 18.5 mpg on the Transit meter. This included 80+ miles per hour speeds in Idaho and Montana.
At home it is always showing between 15-16 mpg.

For proof check: 3.31/3.77 =| 0.878 - 1 | = 0.122

1 - 2/18 = 1 - 0.111 = 0.889

1 - 1.5/13 = 1 - 0.115 = 0.885

It's probably a nominal difference within driving style variation limits, but if you are hauling a light load and going for the 1M miles economically, it might make a difference: just like hauling heavy loads constantly and straining the powertrain would too maybe - but 400 ft-lbs torque will get you going since that's over 10% of most all other engines of any kind. However, it's the same transmission for all models. I hope it's a good one.

I've never seen two tanks in a row over 14, and 14 is rare. I get about 13.5 in mixed driving. You guys can have the eco. I'll keep the boost.

I averaged 16.0 for the last year - 17000 miles. Around town (slow and with stops) - 10-12. 65 - 18. 65 w/ac - 17.5. 55 - over 20. Stops and idling kill my mileage.
