Ride quality: 8600 vs 9000 gvwr

Hello. New here but just ordered a 250 medium w 9000. I test drove one before ordering and the main complaint I had was the harsh ride mainly on the highway. A close second was the noise which can be remedied.

Does anyone know if a 8600 is any better? Is the front suspension the same on both w the difference being in the rear or is it softer all the way around? Thanks

I am pretty sure the only difference is in the rear suspension. Mine is a 250 rated for 8600 and rides pretty nice.

You may have had the tire pressures too high in the one you drove - it makes a big difference.

Empty they are a pretty lousy ride. Go to home Depot and get a load of concrete bags and then take it for a ride.

As said my 350HD rides pretty well, even empty. You want a rough ride try my 96 F350- I don't know why they even put cupholders in it- can't use them- any drink sloshes out.

The springs are tight and the tires are supposed to be inflated very high because of the weigh handling so that makes bumps very harsh.

Adding a load definitely helps with ride and sound because of the absorption properties.

Riding on a new blacktop road is quiet heaven. Like rails. So smooth and quiet and the ecoboost with electric fan is whisper quiet.

Nope.

I think that is loaded though. GVWR or whatever it's called. '15 T250 cargo.
