Predictions for model year 2017?

I wonder if anyone in the know (CrewVanMan?) wanted to hazard guesses about availability of these features in the USA for MY2017:

- Combination short wheelbase + tall roof. They appear to exist in other markets (or at least in Slovakia).

- A factory crew van (i.e. cargo van w/ a second row of seats).

- HID headlights.

- Keyless ignition.

I imagine if more Americans were to buy vans the way they buy pickups - that is, for utility _and_ personal use - we would see a wider range of options offered for the Transit. Perhaps with its success that will begin to happen.

HID headlights - I question why Ford does not have these standard by now on all vehicles - Even Hyundai and Kia have them and LED lights on their econo cars.

Semi-optional water intake system. That is, if they don't figure out the wet air filter problem.

manual transmission

Hi,

I saw that in one of the european videos, the transit has a manual transmission. Do you think that will ever be an option in the US? Is it hard to make the conversion?

keyless starter and LED or HID headlights would be awesome. Every Ford I drive besides our transit has them, it's so nice not having to put a key in the ignition, and grabbing the door handle unlocking the vehicle.

oh and auto headlamps would be a plus

I doubt we'll ever see that. Probably 1/2 the people driving now in the US have no idea how to even operate one...
There are some pretty funny videos out there where carjackers forced people out of stick cars then couldn't drive it

I've not paid much attention to HID headlights - aside from cussing them when I'm absolutely blinded by an oncoming car with them. Absolutely, perfectly smooth and level ground they're fine. But we don't have that here. Every bump in the road they hit and I get "flashed" by the **** things. If we're cresting a hill from opposite directions I can't see a thing until they're finally past me. Regular halogens are bad enough, those HIDs are far worse.

Oops, got started on a rant - sorry...

Anyway... Was just browsing an F150 forum where someone mentioned a problem with their HID headlights - one was stuck in HIGH beam. So today I learn the things have a shutter assembly that flips back and forth between low and high...

...and if that shutter fails it's over $700 for the assembly! Ye gods!!!

Yeah, I'm happier with $20 halogen bulbs I can change in minutes - that have no moving parts...

Wish list:
How about low roof with drivers side slider?
How about short van with a little more weight capacity as an option?
Ford working on a new small diesel (think it's called Lion)?
8-10 speed tranny coming at some point.
