I think $25k is pretty good for the Transit Wagon. There is often a lot of options available for these vans so you have to be wary of that, but otherwise I think it is perfectly reasonable.

I'm assuming its priced around what the rest of the competition is priced at.

And with all those options added up it can make the price jump quickly.

I think most people add a good handful of options to vans like these too. They price it low because they know that they will make a killing on all of the options.

That is something to consider when comparing the price of different vans too. One may have a lower starting price, but you have to figure out what the overall price will be once you add in all of the options that you want.

on the plus side someone who just needs to go for the bare minimum can do so and get it for a great price, works great in the end for everyone

It carries a $5K premium over the Grand Caravan. I guess if someone is in the market for a van and want something different than the ubiquitous its a cool prospect, but $5K?

Granted I'm not sure what the included kit is base to base...

I feel like it must have more cargo space or something. I mean it isn't a mini-van, its a van without prefix. I'm sure that you are getting a bit different of a product than if you were to go with a Grand Caravan.
