I have the E.B. 3.31, once in a great while I hear a growling noise, it sounds like its coming from the tranny or T.C. only for about a second then its fine. No adverse effects. anyone else:s
thanks, it does seem to come on when the turbo kicks in, the only problem is I can only make this noise in frequently.
However It may also be T.C. related, the roads where damp and my tires are just about down to the wear bars. Today I will turn the T.C. off, thus either finding this to be at fault or eliminating this problem. The only good news is I have 15,000 miles left on my powertrain warrenty
Had a supervisor ride with me yesterday, now hes saying it maybe coming from the powertrain. He will call Ford directly to get some kind of answer. If this isn't fixed by the 1st of the year I am gonna get rid of the transit
Same problem. Dealer said they have to order parts for the engine seal recall before they address this.
I hate Ford's service.
The summary of my Transit experience.
1. Sliding door that still takes the part off of itself and the body.
2. Rear brakes that are completely wiped out.
3. Sounds like an old diesel tractor sometimes when I start it.
4. Sounds like an old diesel tractor's turbo most of the time while driving it. My whistle/warble/whine from the turbo happens randomly while driving on the interstate or when accelerating from a stop. Even while idling, it'll just kick on and whistle a lot louder.
