Any chance of adding the following thread's information here?

Build Complete/Delivery Time Lag

[notably about getting Full History Reports by VIN from dealers to check delivery status]

and also moving/copying the thread to the logical sub-form for Dealers/Purchase/Orders, perhaps as a Sticky?

http://www.fordtransitusaforum.com/d...chases-orders/

Thanks,

Peter

PS -- As you may have noticed, Aristo, the lack of active Moderation on this site is now resulting in a chaotic mish-mash of random information, with lots of very useful old threads getting lost -- forever apparently.

If you would like to hire me to help re-build this site/forum so that it can become useful again, please advise.

PS2 -- I just started a new thread Build Complete/Delivery Time Lag Two FYI.

How do I turn off auto lock?

New Ford transit owner here. I use the van to do my deliveries every night and I find it annoying that the doors auto lock once you start driving. I know there is a way you can turn off that feature using the controls on the steering wheel, but my vehicle doesn't have the controls on the steering wheel so I don't know what to do. Thanks.

2 things I would add

There are two items I would add to this FAQ. They are both maintenance issues. First is the guibo, two members have found cracking. Second is the leaking air filter box, which is very common.

What don't you like about the doors auto locking? Ford's have always been pull to open from inside so I've never seen it as a problem but if you're making deliveries maybe it creates an extra step everytime you stop? Just curious.

I deliver fresh bread to delis and a lot of them are close together, same street, so it's annoying to have to press the unlock button 40 times per night.
Before I bought this van, I rented a transit from U-Haul. The one from U-Haul had buttons on the steering wheel and I figured out how to program the computer to not automatically lock every time I put the vehicle in drive. The transit that I bought does not have the controls on the steering wheel, so I don't know how to program the computer like I did on the U-Haul van. The owners manual did not help because it assumes that I have the buttons on the steering wheel.

All my doors unlock when I open the drivers door unless the engines still running. So I'm guessing your leaving the engine running during your deliveries?

Maybe your dealer could reprogram it.

It's good to have doors locked while driving... most even simple accidents can be life threatening due to dismemberments... arms and legs flail out the popped open door which then closes on them. :O But I hope it's on a switch anyway.
