This was on our local news today. They made it out to be a big deal that these normal year to year updates were so newsworthy.
Also mentioned was the fact that Ford had built 100k of these in 13 months. I'm still surprised at that number so fast.

Still waiting for the dual swiveling seats, and other minor changes/additions, so the RV makers will and can take off with this chassis. Of course the RV business end is at the bottom of the feeding chain

.
I am not surprised they hit 100k fast.

For starters, there are a lot of repressed vanners out there who would have preferred a good van but for decades all that was available was, to be diplomatic, unattractive. This is why big vans went out of style.

Transit changed the dynamic.

They are currently selling at a 140k annual rate and, as it sinks into the buying public's consciousness, I would not be surprised to see a much higher rate.

Dissappointing!

Where's the: Fog Lights,...swivel seats,...roof rails,...bi-xenon head lamps,...electric sliding steps,...4x4 option,...etc?

What? No Nappa leather, Mark Levinson audio, jasmine-infused cabin misting, or crushed walnut facial scrub? Getting the Mercedes instead...

That is where the aftermarket companies come in and make the add-ons that the manufacturer does not put on the Transit. If you were at the 2014 SEMA Show or looked at the pictures taken at the show, the aftermarket companies touched base on nearly all the items you mentioned. Just 'google' 'Ford Transits at the SEMA Show' and look at what was introduced for the Ford Transit.

still no driver side slider for low roof? I thought dual sliders were a cost to entry into the van market about a decade ago.

I'm seeing tons of commercial Transits on the road now, as well as quite a few Promasters. I can't remember the last time I've seen a new Sprinter with a sign on the side of it.

We had the sea-salt facial scrub installed, but it was after-market.
