The bar and the hitch plate are separate. You could mount your plate in a different spot. Lower or to the side.

I would be interested in the bar depending on price and style. I could live with either aluminum or steel.

Own: 2015 T-350 long and tall cargo van, 3.5L EB, 3.31 rears, Espar B-4 heater, 245/75 R16 Michelin LTX M/S. Used in nation wide expedited freight delivery.

I'm interested, but how important do some feel that front step is? Helps me a ton for washing window.

Well you could still step up on the metal bar and it would give you far more options in terms of steps.

2016, low roof, 130, XLT, eco boost, almost all options. 10 seats, vinyl floors. Took delivery Sep 2016
