Stupid question... The trim that goes where running boards would be

For the life of me I can't figure out what the trim pieces along the bottom of both sides of the body are called. They go where running boards or steps would be installed. Also does anyone have running boards on their transit? What's the best ones to get?

There are some good threads in here about running boards, I have the Ionic ones from RunningBoard Warehouse

As search for side steps or running boards leads to some discussion on the subject.

XLT wagon Silver/Charcoal, 2-12 Passenger (on any given day), alloy wheels, Ionic running boards, various modifications ongoing.

Here's the Ford Part No.: CK4Z-6110176-FA for version with notch you want with running board. Ka-Ching$

Verify that before buying, but I think that is the #.

I really would just like to have the factory trim. Ford dealer says $600 for the two. It can't be that high surely. But I can't find the name of it. I've looked for 'rocker panels' but best I can tell, that's what they call the floor pieces that go inside the doors

The only stupid question is the unasked question.

Running Boards

I purchased a set from RunningBoard Warehouse, probably same as Asdrew.
A quick inspection after reading the install instructions revealed that I
have used the bracket locations for other purposes..ie Propane Tank, Black water tank etc. Wish I had purchased the running boards before I installed the other items!! So after that screw-up I decided to wait until I am closer to completion so I decide on what braces need to be fabricated. All in a days work! My deadline for completion is June 4, which will give me 5 days to troubleshoot all items before we leave for Manchester, Tn!-BONNAROO 2016

I had a similar result from local dealer. But why do you want 2? If only one, I assume you mean $300. What is your exact requirement?

Those trim pieces are a pain in the butt with our running boards. 80 percent of the time people's heel catches that trim piece and pulls it half off the tabs when the step out of the van through the sliding door.

I agree with you 100%, didn't ford engineers at least step one time in the rear compartment from the side load door and notice the problem??
