You'll need to get part number 14B268 (about $12) from the dealer to add that indicator back in and your airbag warning will go away. Plug the 5-pin connector into it, snap it in place and Bob's your uncle.

(To be sure, the airbag warning light is just letting you know that the indicator is missing or non-functional. Your airbags will still be active.)
i was thinking that, thank you , i did order but ford cant find the part after it being shipped, figures lol, im commercial driver, i have to have everything working, (DOT. inspections every 120 days )

I have no idea which state you are in but I don't think airbags are DOT required equipment. But, an a$$hole is an a$$hole and if he sees a light, he's gonna write. Good luck finding your part.

Hey guys - I'm just about to pull the trigger and order all of my parts. I currently have a factory stereo with the 4" screen, but I'm happy to get rid of all of that and just go with a double - din. I don't have a backup camera from the factory and will be installing one of the tadi Brothers brake light mount cameras.

The only thing I can't get full data on is the Ford "Airbag Indicator" part. Since the light that says "Passenger airbag" is part of my stereo justcallben stated that i would need a ford part 14B268. I looked online and that looks like the switch to deactivate the airbag. I would think I'm supposed to be looking for another passenger airbag light that would mount above the hazard indicator. Does anyone have a link or more information on that part?

Garage
let us know if anyone actually has the parts in stock. beware, carID will lie to you and tell you they have it then once they have your money they'll tell you it's backordered, then when you inquire they'll offer a refund because they have no expectation of resupply. They did it to me 3 different times.

The Metra double din kit is recalled because the part above the head units was melting.

The description in the Ford Parts Catalog is not quite correct. It is actually the indicator for airbag deactivation and not the switch (which is in the glovebox). If you're nervous, just ask your dealer to bring it in and if it's correct (which it will be) then you buy it. If it isn't, then you have a chance to research without wasting more money. I had my dealer bring in that exact part number and it is correct in form if not description.

According to Tony at Metra, who I spoke with this morning, there is no recall. Please don't post inflammatory statements without documentation or sources.

Thanks.

Thanks justcallben for clearing that up - but I found another interesting thing. I looked and realized - I don't even HAVE a passenger airbag on/off light. The spot where I thought it would be [at the top of the stereo] is just a blank. and the spot above the hazards lights is just a blank as well. So - I'm going to assume I don't need anything?

I posted the comment about the Metra kit because Metra told my audio dealer it wasn't currently available.
