I always liked the way they had the alternate titles for the Rocky and Bullwinkle adventures so this reply is titled:

Windage and Elevation OR Your Mileage May Vary.

I don't think the owner can recalibrate things like MPG & MPH on the Transit, but you can on these aftermarket gauges. It's useful to me to be able to see how fast I'm really going when I engage the cruse control. I know about how much the van's speedometer is off, but I'm not so comfortable with looking down and getting the van's speedo needle to settle in at a "hair south" of the little line that comes after the 60 and before the big line that's half way between the 60 and the 80. I like the real time MPG, but I am ok with checking the Spanish Moss to judge how much of a head wind I'm up against. ;-]

I tow a lot in a variety of conditions.

Looking for a moniter to mostly keep an eye on engine coolant temp and transmission temperature when towing.

What version of the Ultraguage do you have? It appears like they have the mx1.3 and the em plus. Trying to figure out the difference between the two.

transmission temperature

Nate,

.

I have the UltraGauge EM Plus.

.

My understanding is that you'd need the UltraGauge MX 1.3 to access the transmission temperature. You'd also need the "codes" to set it up.

http://ultra-gauge.com/ZC/index.php?...products_id=57
Only purchase the MX if you are certain that Manufacturer OBDII codes exist for your year, make, model and engine size. Otherwise please purchase the UltraGauge EM Plus. The best source of vehicle codes is an automotive forum specific to your vehicle.

Manufacturer gauges - Access hidden manufacturer gauges such as Transmission temperature. Manufacturer parameters are those not included in the OBDII standard. (MX and wireless Ultragauge only)

http://www.ultra-gauge.com/ultragaug...uge_MX_1.3.pdf
For example, there is no OBDII parameter for Transmission Temperature; however, some manufacturers can access this parameter.

"Codes:"

As soon as you figure out the codes for transmission temp, I'd really appreciate the info. (UltraGauge MX 1.3 (NEW) (UltraGauge_MX_1.3)

Do you have any pictures showing where you mounted your UltraGauge? Did you just use the suction cup?

I'll get one for you in a day or so. But I just used some super glue gel on the back of the foam sticky pad and then put in the corner just next to the air vent.

Airdrifter copied me

Although I had to put a small screw thru the mounting plate as it kept falling off from the heat of the sun. I ran the cord down the side under the rubber trim.
