Double din upgrade

Wonder if this would work on our vans.

Problem I see is that its just the fascia - you gotta have something for the radio to mount to in the dash and im betting ford made it to where custom fabrication is necessary to mount a standard radio...
man I hate ford sync. I hope someone finds out a good way to put in a real radio!

I have seen this too, but I don't think it'll work. The fascia panel you linked to has extra holes above the vents to fit the control wheel that closes the respective vent. The US transit doesn't have these.

Best bet can see now is to get the dash piece that houses the 6 inch display for the My Ford Touch and an aftermarket radio to that. But I havn't been able to find the part # in the Ford online parts catalog.

I'm a ways out from ordering a transit, but I am interested in what the possible options are for installing an aftermarkets head unit. From the reviews I have read here and elsewhere, there are a lot of better options than the available Ford units.

For my purposes, I am interested in something that can act as the center hub of an infotainment system: send audio and video to the passenger area; connect to and Android device; and be used for navigation.
