Question About to install Webasto gas heater under passenger seat; need some help!

Hi,

I've got my Webasto kit and i'm ready to install it under passenger seat.
I know some people on this forum had it installed already, but i have'nt seen any pictures...

My issue is to locate the unit, because it is very crowded under the van (frame, etc).

Could anybody share picture of their installed location (under the van) with the fuel line routing to the fuel tank (need to cross the muffler = hot!).

Here is a picture for discussion:

Thanks!!

I put in a diesel Espar- similar to the Webasto I think.
Carefully centered the intake/exhaust/fuel supply holes in that area where the jack bolt is. Relocated the jack over closer to the driver.
Ran my fuel line forward, encased in an extra vinyl tubing across the van inside that crossmember the suspension is attached to, then back to the fuel tank.

This thread has some info- Espar D2 Install

I installed my Webasto under the passenger seat. It fits just about perfectly there if you position carefully. I have a diagram and a couple photos here:

connect gas heater to aux fuel port

The only tough part was that I had the heater slightly too far to the left and one of the holes partially went through a boron hardened sheet metal overlapped area. That took... 1.5 hours and 2 carbide tipped drill bits. If you can punch all the holes in non-hardened sheet metal you'd be much much better off.

Oh, and you can feed the webasto provided fuel line through a couple of frame member holes and above the exhaust heat shield. If memory serves the way I routed it allowed for easy attachment to existing holes or other lines with some zip ties. I did the whole install without having to drop the heat shield or exhaust. The only thing that had to be lowered was the fuel tank, which is actually easy to do even without disconnecting it's filler pipe or other lines.
