Exclamation Countdown to last days for 2017 Transit orders

May 1st has been designated the last day to submit orders for a 2017 Transit. Lots of Canadian buyers have been trying to guess on the Canadian cutoff and only know it is earlier than the US Ford dealer cutoff. If you are wanting to submit a order, TODAY would be the best day to get it in to your dealer. You will be getting at least a $3500 FORD rebate on the vans and $4000 on the wagons which is subject to change by the time the last 2017 models are built.

If you miss ordering a 2017 model.......MAY 15th is the projected first day to order a 2018 model with a 30 day waiting period (JUNE 15th) for the orders to be pooled to make the most common ordered Transits at the start of assembly beginning in late August. The first built units tend to be FLEET ORDERS as those are the most common units with similar options on them.

My Dearborn contact just sent me this update.......

Last day for CONFIRMED 2017 Transit orders 5/5/2017
Projected last day for 2017 Transit builds, 8/25/2017
Projected first day for 2018 Transit builds, 8/28/2017

From what happened last year on the Transit assembly line, they had both 2016 & 2017 models running in mixed order down the line.

4 business days left to order a 2017 Transit. If you want a 2017 model with a least $3500 to $4000 Ford rebate and possibly more by the time you get it at the dealership, NOW is the time to get your order in so the Ford dealer can get it into the Ford order system and get it confirmed for production.

Anyone working on getting a NEW 2017 Transit right now with a dealer? Heard some dealers could not submit orders. Wondering if Ford already cutoff orders or possibly the dealer did not have a allocation for a 2017 model.

Placed my order yesterday after the dealer triple checked with their Ford rep and everything looks good, but yesterday was the last day for orders in Canada apparently.

I was dealing with a dealer with a sizeable allocation for April which may played a role as another smaller dealer told me it was last Monday.

Not sure if it's different than in the US.

Canada had a earlier cutoff date. If 2 Canada dealers had different cutoff dates, I think it may be reflected in them having or not having a allocation to order a Transit. Each dealer usually has a cutoff date to submit their allocated units and this might have been the case.

Let us know when you get a VIN. They are saying that confirmation should be in the next week.

Dealers will be busy today trying to get their LAST 2017 orders in for the Transit. Monday will be the deadline so don't wait to the last minute and lose out on getting that order in. A new Ford rebate is being announced for the 2017 Transit van in some areas starting on May 2nd.

Tomorrow, May 1st is the last day for submitting a order for a 2017 Transit. If you were one of the ones who got your order into the dealer in the last week, let us know if and when you get your VIN. After tomorrow, you will have to wait until May 15th for submitting a order for a 2018 model.

CVM - I did a build sheet at my local dealer yesterday to see what it would cost me. Other than the rebate, which I totally understand is subject to change, is there any reason the price would change significantly on a 2018 build?

As for the rebate, the computer screen I saw at my dealer showed the expiration of the major $3000 rebate on a Transit as July. Is it likely to change because the rebates are VIN specific? I was also offered a competitive vehicle rebate of $1000 that also showed it was valid through July. Any reason to believe it would not apply to the 2018?

Last Q - in terms of real world time, do you know roughly how much later an order would arrive if placed tomorrow versus placed on the first day of the 2018 orders?

I have heard the 2018 model will have from 2% to 5% increase based on the different body styles. When the 2018's show up, they may or may not have a Ford rebate.
There is supposed to be a NEW Ford rebate change on the 2017 model VAN after May 1st. Now at $3500 and may be changed to $4000 like the 2017 wagon.

If you order a 2017 Transit tomorrow, it would be built mid-to-late August. The ordered 2018 model would probably show up near the end of September based on what type of Transit you order and how many FLEET Transits are ordered and built in front of the retail orders.
