Your Transit must have came with the others that were at the Forney Road Distribution Center on Tuesday. I passed by there and could see a lot of white ones being loaded on the delivery trucks. Only one I have seen there other than the white ones was a silver one with windows (did not know if it was a van with windows or wagon)

Glad to see you got your Transit. Your dealer ordered another Blue one that may be there when you pickup yours. It is one VIN from your van.

Talked to the dealer yesterday and the Transit I ordered on May 10th is set to be made on December 8th. I called the 800# to see if a Vin # was available and the guy put me on hold and came back and said no vin # was produced yet, How is everyone getting Vin #'s on vans ordered just a month ago when mine was ordered 6 months ago (a half a year sounds better...LOL) ?
I still want the My Touch radio but told the dealer if the remote start delays this van by even a week to drop it.

Packerbacker, I have been tying every possible thing I can to figure out what ford is doing. At least you have the fact that remote start and my touch were going to cause delays until December(maybe longer). When I ordered my van I was told there was nothing that should delay it and I should expect to see it in 10 to 12 weeks. It now sounds like people that placed their order about the same time or a few weeks after me all which received their VIN shortly after are starting to see there vans. I am betting now I won't see my van until after the 1st of the year. No one at ford seems to know why and they certainly are not telling if they do know why. GOOD LUCK!

BW5 and packerbacker, looking forward to the day when you can report actual delivery of your Transits here!

More poor communication from Ford, which disheartens us all . . .

dado6,

Very interested in hearing of your impression of the adequacy of the rear seating in your new Wagon.

Please share when you have a minute.

First, I will attach a few pictures.

Secondly, my first impressions after putting 369 miles on it this weekend with my wife and kids in tow.
  1. Ride: Drives so very sweet. It is very car like, and makes you forget that you are driving a huge vehicle. There is absolutely no slop in the steering, so some might call it sensitive. To me it feels like it is precise. Handles bumps and uneven road like a champ without beating you up. Handles high winds and cross winds very well with the large sway bar installed on the wagons. We did not get blown around by a single semi or oil tanker truck the entire weekend, and we passed and were passed by them several times both on the same side of the highway and having them be in the oncoming lane. My wife didn't want to let me have the van back as she was having way too much fun driving it. Tons of power, and rides very well all the way up to 90 MPH. It is amazingly quiet for a large vehicle when at speed as well.
  2. Space: My children did not fight over space one the entire weekend. Not. One. Time. This is a minor miracle. The only haggling was by my youngest boy over where HE wanted his car seat. My 3 youngest can actually see outside the vehicle while we are traveling, and the overall visibility is amazing!
  3. Fit and finish: First class all the way. The rubber flooring and trim is amazingly well built. there is 10" of insulation underneath the passenger platform that makes for an extremely quite ride. The seats are all comfortable, however there are some rows that are more restricted than others. However, there are more than enough seats to let folks with longer legs sit in the seats with more leg room. As to the electronics, the back up camera is really cool with the integrated back up sensors. I would like to have an 8" screen instead of the 4" that is currently installed, and will most likely upgrade this in the future. The paint is amazing on the vehicle. The blue is simply beautiful and very sparkly. Not bad for a $150 option, vs $900+ for other makes.
  4. Dealer forgot to add the passenger side running board / assist step. This has been a huge pain this weekend, and I will most likely have to find an after market solution. If you are ordering a wagon, make sure that the dealer also orders the running board.
  5. Sliding door: it is very smooth operating, bu t extremely heavy. My wife had a hard time getting it to latch the first few times, then got the hang of it. This is making me consider the power sliding door aftermarket components for next year. I may do this in addition to the power sliding step.
  6. Radio: very good audio clarity and range. Needs a sub, but that can be added. Very happy with the steering wheel controls, easy to use and intuitive.
  7. Fuel mileage: Based on my limited tests over 369 miles, your foot is the single largest factor in getting good fuel mileage when you have the ecoboost. During the first 200 miles, we ran it like a sports car, and WOW was it fun. It will actually push you back into your seat! Gas mileage for that 200 miles was 14.6, and that was driving it HARD to seat the rings properly (I am a believer in motoman's break in). After that, for the next 169, we drove it like we intend, and saw mileage from 18.2 in city to 20.5 highway, 19.2 overall mixed. So I am very pleased so far. I will run a long mileage test the week of thanksgiving with about 1800 miles.
  8. My wife is happy, my kids are happy and therefore I am happy.
I will be happy to answer any questions.

Thanks!

Top Tier, or Tier 1 gas for ecoboost direct injection
