2D Drawings

Looking for some Transit cargo 148WB MR 2D drawings for laying out camper/conversion plans. Easily found for Sprinters, but have seen nothing for Transit.

The Transit 148wb interior cargo length appears to be 11" longer than the 144wb Sprinter,...but both the same width (69").

Actually, the Transit is quite a bit wider than that where it counts. At the window height it's about 76" wide and tapers less than the Sprinter as you go up. No problem sleeping across if you're 6' or less. I easily fit a standard full size futon across my Transit.
Sorry can't help with drawings.

You might want to check orton's DIY thread here (as you may have done already):

For instance, re sleeping sideways:

BTW you can "Search this Thread" once you are there for other info..

This link is not perfect but very useful for getting some dimensions (http://www.adriansteel.com/item/carg.../ford-transit/)

This site has some top views and some downloadable files (http://cargovanconversion.com/plans)

If you find something better, please share. The models on sketchup don't appear to be dimensionally accurate for the Transit 2015.

What format do you want the drawings in? I have 2D drawings for a 148"WB high roof (not extended) van. At least they would be a start.

The trick for sleeping across the back of van is to utilize the window indents. Minimum insulation at window location to maximize the width. My bed platform will provide a 74" bed length at a 32 1/2" elevation above the top of the corrugated metal van floor. I removed the factory floor covering and will have a 1 1/2" composite insulated floor. (Pictures soon if I do not exceed this site's data limit)
The bed platforms (4) pivot down to rest on top of the 30" high table top. The bed platforms are 27" wide and are hinged at the side walls. Two on each side. Two back ones down for one person sleeping platform and four down for two people. Use two self inflating 24" wide camp pads/person for the mattress. Four total. During the day the bedding for the front bed is placed on top of the bedding for the back bed. Front two panels then pivoted back up so front half of table is usable for two people during the day.

I found this 3D Sketchup model. Maybe you can play around with it.

You can use a free version called Make. I found it very easy to use.

It is not the 2015 US version but it is easy to resize.

Not bad at all for a free 3D version to be available in the way that is. Reason why I love communities like these, lots of great help, great people.

Thanks, I have been drawing my own "boxes" in sketchup to use as a van model, but getting all the 3D dimensions is hard, and without the proper angles for van sides and exact door openings I can't do more than a rough approximation.

FWIW, here's a link to a Google Drive folder with the preliminary sketchup plan (.skp file) for my (yet to be delivered) HR EL van. Also have a fairly current parts spreadsheet there, and a few .jpgs that I can't remember the reason for posting.
https://drive.google.com/folderview?...FU&usp=sharing

I am sure the dimensions are somewhat off, and I haven't drawn any walls.

Bought a 148WB, Medium Roof, 3.5L today. My build is to be similar to the Sportsmobile 131S....hmmm, cannot seem to download that,...it calls for a jackknife sofa behind the driver seat, and cabinets on both sides. In the far back, a low structure on one side for a Thetford 550P.

As my plan was for a regular roof Sprinter with a penthouse, I'll have to rethink the higher space, but will likely be cautious about adding weight there.

2015 Transit 250 Cargo, MR, 148WB, 3.5L, 3.73 LS, Quigley 4x4 (Camper Conversion in progress).
