Regarding DIY auto repair and intellectual property, that is a bunch of BS, as far as I'm concerned. Being able to work on the Transit has been one of my biggest gripes since purchasing it. I feel like we're fumbling around in the dark, chasing our tails when we try to work on these vehicles ourselves. It really removes any sense of pride in ownership that I should feel towards the vehicle manufacturer--Ford. Having to look at parts diagrams at an online parts warehouse or do exploratory surgery before making a diagnosis in a modern vehicle when you should be able to flip through a service manual is a pile of steaming horse crap.
