This was a common situation on the Sprinter Forum for years. People purchased a new Sprinter only to find that it violated the HOA rules, or that the ONE PERSON running the HOA didn't like it because it looked "different". Even people who read through the HOA rules and thought they were abiding (not having dual rear wheels, no signage on the van, no commercial plates, meeting height and length rules, etc) would find a nasty note from the little old busybody HOA enforcer telling them they must get rid of their vehicle.
Solution: NEVER live anywhere with an HOA, it always sucks.
